Ethics and Pain Management

Focus Areas

Healthcare Education • Ethics • Adult Learning • Performance-Based Learning

The Challenge

Healthcare professionals face increasingly complex decisions related to pain management, ethics, patient care, and evolving best practices. Subject matter experts developed extensive content covering these topics, creating a need for a comprehensive learning program that would support both knowledge acquisition and practical application.

The challenge was transforming a large volume of SME-developed content into a cohesive learning experience that would maintain learner engagement across 20 modules and more than 10 hours of instruction.

My Approach

Working from SME-provided materials, I collaborated in the design and development of a comprehensive eLearning curriculum focused on ethics and pain management.

To support engagement and knowledge retention, I incorporated a variety of instructional strategies including scenario-based learning, reflection opportunities, interactive activities, and assessment-driven reinforcement. Particular emphasis was placed on helping learners apply complex concepts to realistic professional situations rather than simply recalling information.

The curriculum was intentionally structured to balance foundational knowledge with practical decision-making, allowing learners to connect course concepts to real-world practice.
